1990s - Herbert J. Clough Home Converted
The enormous Colonial Revival home was built from wood directly from the Everett Lumber Mills around 1921 for Herbert J. and Lenora Clough. On the southwest corner of Hoyt Avenue and 10th Street, the house stands on six, 25-foor lots in the Bailey Addition, a 1918 plat. In the 1930’s, local businessman Charles C. Chaffee bought the residence and converted it to apartments. In the 1990’s, the property was converted to condominiums. Because the local lumber used was high-quality, the building remains the same today.
